Sedation Dentistry

Research shows that almost one third of the American population puts off visiting the dentist’s office for one reason: dental phobia. Many people have such fear and anxiety about dental visits and procedures that they choose to suffer through oral issues rather than having them taken care of at the dentist. This dental phobia is the cause of millions of people subjecting themselves to cavities, gum disease, and tooth loss. At Juban Cowen Dental Care, we put too much interest into our patients to allow dental phobia to stand between them and the necessary dental care they need. We are proud to offer oral conscious sedation to our patients who need help relaxing at the dentist’s office so that they can achieve and maintain a healthy, beautiful smile.

With oral conscious sedation, patients are given a pill to take one hour prior to their dental appointment. Patients will be escorted to a room where they will be allowed to relax in a very comfortable chair, be covered by a warm blanket until they are relaxed enough not to be concerned with the dental procedures that will take place. This allows our experienced dental team to take care of our patients’ dental needs without the patients being anxious during their appointment. Vital signs will be carefully monitored during the entire process to keep patients comfortable and safe.
